About the programme
The MSc programme Agricultural and Bioresource Engineering is for students with an (agricultural) engineering background on bachelor level that are interested to pursue a MSc degree in a field where the interaction between technology and biology plays an important role. The programme specifically focuses on the interaction between technology and biology related to agricultural production with as main goal: the development of innovative technology for agroproduction (on a scientific basis).
Future career
Graduated agricultural and bioresource engineers are working for a large number different enterprises in a large variety of functions.
More than 75% of the young graduates finds a job that directly connects to the study programme. The others find other jobs that most times require an academic engineering background. Most students find a job directly after graduating and varies the past years between 50 and 80%, also depending on the economic situation. Many graduates start in a research function and move on to a management job. After five to ten years 20% has a management job and after more than ten years almost 40%.
Admission requirments
General requirments

  • Students who want to enrol the Msc programme of Agricultural and Bioresource Engineering at Wageningen University must have:
  • at least a Bsc degree or equivalent of a technical programme or an agricultural education programme with sufficient engineering
  • sufficient skills in mathematics
  • sufficient computer skills.

English Language requirments
For Dutch nationals

  • HAVO 7.0 or VWO 6.0 for English.
  • Oxford Online Placement Test (OOPT). The OOPT is offered by the Language Services of Wageningen University. The OOPT score must be 60 or higher.
  • IELTS overall grade 6.0 (minimum sub score of 6.0 for speaking)
  • TOEFL paper-based 550, computer-based 213, internet-based 79-80
  • Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE): pass at grade C
  • Cambridge First Certificate (FCE): pass at grade B/C

For EU nationals

  • IELTS overall grade 6.0 (with a minimum sub score of 6.0 for speaking)
