As a future specialist in Food and Agribusiness Management, you will discover just how Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) should dovetail with an organisation's Sustainable Development programme. You will learn how to deal with the tensions and trade-offs facing firms that adopt CSR while working in a very competitive market. You will lay the groundwork for implementing CSR programmes. You will also guide culture-change processes: in companies used to thinking solely in terms of shareholder value, they are vital to achieving a successful CSR strategy.

Content programme

Main programme topics and projects:

  • International strategic management and HRM;
  • Business plan and international financial management;
  • Total Quality Management (involving a project in international sustainability management);
  • Supply Chain Management (also involving a project in international sustainability management).

Career opportunities

Graduates are building careers in import and export firms, the food industry, retail and wholesale organisations, and government and non-government organisations. You will find many of them in the more traditional positions - as food-marketing managers, purchasing managers, commercial food technologists, quality managers, production managers, and human resource managers. And you will find many others working in the newer types of job, as chain managers and international sustainability managers.

Admission requirements

To qualify for enrolment, you should successfully have completed two years of bachelor's-level study in a relevant subject. Applicants with a different background may also be eligible for enrolment. Several years of relevant working experience may compensate for a lack of formal qualifications.

Moreover, you must have a sufficient knowledge of the English language (e.g. TOEFL with a score of 550, IELTS 6,0), and possess basic computer skills (work with MS Office, Internet). For some majors complementary requirements apply (for example Chemistry or Biology).
