About the programme

The MSc Development and Rural Innovation is the international social sciences programme for students with a technical, life science or management background with an interest in international development and beta/ gamma integration. In Development and Rural Innovation, we develop professionals who are able to deal with knowledge processes in dynamic contexts. Crucial in Development and Rural Innovation is interdisciplinary thinking along human and technological dimensions of innovation.

Future career

Development and Rural Innovation graduates are welcomed by a wide variety of organizations and work within a broad range of disciplines. Graduates work, for example, as facilitators at consultancies, specialists at research institutes, conflict mediators at governments, as project leaders in non-governmental organizations and sometimes setup their own companies.

Admission requirments

Students who wish to enrol in the MSc Development and Rural Innovation Programme at Wageningen University must have:

  • At least a BSc degree (or equivalent) in a field of science relevant to the specific programme selected.
  • A Grade Point Average (GPA) for the BSc study of at least 70% of the maximum scale.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Good skills in mathematics and/or statistics.
  • Basic computer skills.
