Course overview
Studying these two subjects together allows you to explore the relationship between the wider landscape and environment and the human societies that inhabited them in the past. In addition to the broad archaeological base, this programme covers social and cultural anthropology, historical archaeology, and physical and cultural geography.

  • Two compulsory and two optional units from each subject in year one, with the option of 25 per cent in a third subjectFlexibility in the combination of the subjects in years two and three, with a dissertation in either subject
  • Teaching is undertaken within a flexible, thematic non-traditional framework that emphasises the plurality and contemporary relevance of the subjects
  • There are options to pursue a wide range of specialist areas, up to 75% of which can be taken in either Archaeology or Geography
