Course Description

The study of architecture takes place within a broad knowledge and skills base that includes arts, humanities, and the physical and social sciences. Central to this programme of study is the process of design including its cognate and supplementary disciplines, supported by lectures, seminars and tutorials.

This architecture degree provides a robust foundation of the practical professional, intellectual, and creative skills needed for a successful career in architecture. The study and practice of architecture requires a broad and diverse knowledge base including arts, humanities, and the physical and social sciences, as well as creative and imaginative faculties. The process of design is central to the course.

Career and progression opportunities

Graduates of this course will have completed the first step in qualifying for registration as an architect. Equally, it is possible to use this degree as the foundation for postgraduate study in other design-related fields.

Entry requirements

• A-levels: AAB (typically translates to 340 points in the UCAS tariff with additional qualifications.) Excludes General Studies.
• International Baccalaureate: 36 points.
• QAA-approved access course: acceptable.
• GCSE (minimum grade C): at least 3 subjects including English language and mathematics.
• For non-native speakers of English: IELTS 6.5 overall, 6.0 in writing.
• Other: Apolytirion: 18.5 overall (including a 15 in Maths).
