The programme structure ensures direct implementation of the IMLA's cross-border approach by requiring study at various locations, thus acquainting the students with different planning cultures.
The exacting but effective programme is divided into five practice-oriented subject areas - Planning Projects on different scales, Planning and Design in Europe, Planning and Project Management, Information Technologies in Planning and Design as well as Planning and Design Methods - and provides high-quality training aligned to labour market requirements, thus honing skills for which there is likely to be an increased demand in the future. The IMLA programme has a strong practical focus. The Master's programme is concerned with a wide variety of European countries and cross-border issues. Projects are mainly held in Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Slovenia, Czech Republic and Switzerland.
