About the programme
This degree builds on links between art history and archaeology, especially with regard to material culture. The archaeology component of their joint degree programme provides practical hands-on work linked to theory.
Year 1 introduces the nature of archaeological data and the practical approaches by which those data are located, recorded and analysed. Year 2 provides you with more theory and knowledge about some aspects of human cultural evolution. In Year 3, you will take Researching Archaeology and Landscape in the autumn term. This course will provide you with the necessary skills to undertake the final course, Independent Study, which is supported by a supervisor and will lead to the writing of a dissertation.
