The course is organised into modules and based on an interdisciplinary cooperation within the Universität Hamburg and the collaboration of international tutors from the artistic field as well as with different cultural and academic institutions in Germany and abroad.

According to ideas of performance that encompass presentation, staging and theatrical productions, the course distinguishes between cultural and artistic performances. At the centre lies the examination of physically oriented forms of play, presentation and staging in the field of stage arts (dance, performance, theatre), popular culture, media, and everyday life (youth culture, media, sports).
