The sky is not the limit, it is just the beginning. Aeronautics and astronautics encompasses a broad range of disciplines within the field of aerospace engineering.
Aeronautics and astronautics courses cover applications to the specification, design and construction of aircraft, engines, satellites and other spacecraft.
This programme focuses on the selection of materials, and the design of aerospace structures, demonstrating how materials behave in service and reasons why they sometimes fail. You will have opportunities to examine a number of case studies in collaboration with our industrial partners. Specialist modules will enable you to develop skills in the structural analysis of aircraft and spacecraft. This programme provides excellent preparation for research in this field.
Course overview
In this programme you will study the selection of materials, and the design of aerospace structures emphasising behaviour in service. It includes a number of case studies undertaken with speakers from industry. Specialist modules will enable you to develop skills in structural analysis of aircraft and spacecraft. This programme also provides you with an excellent background if you are interested in research in this field of study.
