Course Description

This degree pathway is a development of the very successful Master of Marine Biology. You will undertake the usual MMarBiol programme in your First and Second years but following the Summer fieldcourse you will spend up to one year at a prestigious partner University undertaking academic credit that contributes towards your University of Southampton degree qualification.

Providing a detailed understanding of marine biology within an oceanographic context, this programme prepares you for a research career in marine biology. Specialist module in research development in year three.

Field course in tropical marine biology, an advanced independent research project and modules in deep-sea ecology, ecological modelling and community analysis in year four.
