This course is designed for those wanting to specialise in business whilst at the same time acquiring vital international cultural understanding. There is also an option to develop valuable language skills. The two are ideal partners, equipping you for an exciting career in international business and making you highly attractive to major employers who operate in global markets.
This provides a general business foundation to enable you to undertake the more demanding study of subsequent years. You will study a range of core subjects such as: Global Business Context, Management and Organisational Behaviour, Business Information Technology Management, Political Economy of Work and Understanding Financial Information, with an option to study one module focusing entirely on your chosen language.
In your second year, your subjects will include: International Business Analysis, Marketing, Human Resource Management and Operations, Business Systems Management and optional languages.
In your final year, you will write a dissertation and study core modules such as: Strategic Management, and Organisational Analysis. These will be supplemented by two optional modules, which can be your optional language.
Graduates enter a variety of careers in, for instance, multinational organisations, foreign based organisations, or UK based organisations with substantial overseas contacts.
English Language requirements: All students will have a recognised English Language qualification of at least GCSE grade C or an equivalent such as the British Council's International English Language Test (IELTS) grade 6.0.
