The BA Honours in Business Studies is one of the largest undergraduate business courses in the country, enabling us to offer you the wide range of specialisms and options which are a feature of the final year. Support and individual counselling are given where appropriate in finding third year placements. The structure of the course is based on over 30 years’ experience of running business studies courses at the University of Westminster. This scheme ensures that you pursue in-depth studies in one major area, with additional option choices in that area, or pursue complementary modules from other major areas including language studies. You may study from a wide range of languages at various levels as part of the degree. You can expect to do a considerable amount of project work especially in the more advanced modules. The course provides work of a challenging and interesting nature which may be directly related to your anticipated career.
The BA Honours Business Studies is a four year sandwich programme which will enable you to pursue a career in the various sectors which make up the world of business.
Each of the years/levels has a theme and you will:
Years 1, 2 and 4 are spent in full-time study at the University of Westminster. Year 3 is spent employed in business or administration.
At the end of the course you will be equipped to follow a variety of careers in the public and private sectors. Their graduates are employed successfully in marketing, marketing communications, sales, accounting, the City, computing, management consultancy, retailing, small business management, insurance, and local government. The course will help if you already have clear career plans, but many successful students find that their plan develops as they follow the course. You do not need to know at this stage exactly what your career is to be. Exemptions are available from some of the examinations of accounting and other professional bodies. You can thus combine this degree with professional access.
300 UCAS tariff points normally including either three six-unit awards or one twelve-unit and one six-unit award, plus a minimum of five passes at GCSE (grade C or above) including English and maths.
