Course details
This course gives you a background in computing including web construction and databases. This is combined with exploring the essential skills needed to run your own business, including business law, the business environment and decision-making. This course is particularly suited to students wanting to work within the IT industry and to develop their computing and professional skills.
Career and progression opportunities
Career opportunities include systems analysis, systems implementation and testing, sales support, applications support, quality assurance and compliance and information management.
Entry requirements
- A-levels: 160 points, from a minimum of one 12-unit or two 6-unit qualifications. Relevant A-level subject. Level 3 Key Skills will count towards the tariff score. General Studies will count towards the tariff score.
- International Baccalaureate: 24 points, specified subjects: Computing/IT.
- QAA-approved access course: acceptable.
- GCSE (minimum grade C): at least 3 subjects including English language and mathematics.
- Foundation degree/HND/HNC: direct to year 2 possible in individual cases.
- For non-native speakers of English: IELTS 6.0 overall, 6.0 in writing.
