Course Description

The German-British "International Business" (IBU) study programme is run jointly with the Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge (UK). Students on this programme are required to study for similar amounts of time in both Berlin and Cambridge. In Berlin, lectures and seminars are held in German; in Cambridge, the language of instruction is English. The programme comprises six semesters of theory and two of supervised work experience, with at least one of those semesters in an English-speaking environment. After eight semesters, successful candidates are awarded a B.A. from both Universities.

Career prospects

Thanks to the international, bilingual nature of this programme and the strong focus on real-life business skills, graduates are extremely well positioned on the job market.

In line with the module stream elective, graduates can apply for a range of management tasks in international companies.

Admission Requirements

  • General qualification for post-secondary education
  • German language examination for university admission in the case of foreign applicants
  • Motivational letter in English (one DIN-A4-sheet)
  • Very good knowledge of English. One of the following tests will be accepted:
    • TOEFL test min. 550 (paper based), 213 (computer based), 79 (internet test )
    • IELTS test (min. 5.0)
    • all levels: CPE, CAE, BEC Higher
    • TOEIC (min. 800)
    • other English language certificates with a minimum of level B2 -“Common European Framework of Reference”.
  • The English ceritificates may be waived for candidates who are:
    • Graduates of secondary education with English as an a-level (Leistungskurs) and a minimum result of “good” (“gut”)
    • Applicants who have spent a school year in or have similar qualifications from an English-speaking country
    • Applicants who hold an English translator’s or interpreter’s certificate
