About the course

Students pursuing a B.A. in International Business - Eastern Europe will receive a sound grounding in the major corporate functions that are of relevance to the management of internationally operating organisations. Moreover, students learn to employ the essential instruments and approaches of business administration to address complex organisational issues.

It ensures that the graduates develop the linguistic proficiency required in the course and in the international business environment for which they have qualified. The course further includes special lectures and exercises in Doing Business in Eastern Europe as well as intercultural communication training.

Structure of studies

The course is in the undergraduate ( 1st and 2nd semester) and the Advanced Course (3rd - 7th semester) divided. In the fifth semester of an internship is foreseen. A semester abroad, either as an internship or a semester, is expected. Given the international character of studies, most events will take place in the main study in English.

Career Options

The substantive approach is oriented towards the needs of large and medium companies that want to use in international business, business generalists with a thematic focus. All three major economic sectors are integrated into the study: capital goods, consumer goods manufacturers and service companies. Typical activities during the first years as career Selection and development of international markets, construction and management of international business structures, international product management, staff organization of multinational companies, international accounting and international business development. Increasingly, business economists with international- intercultural orientation in non-profit organizations operate.

Admission Requirements

For the study at the University of Heilbronn, the Abitur or technical college is required. Due to the high proportion of English- events knowledge of English ( matriculation or equivalent level of performance required). Prior knowledge of Russian is not required. With the election languages Spanish and French are required only in French language skills. Admission is by a study related competitions. Here, the following criteria:

  • Overall, the grade mathematics, German, English, business administration;
  • Eastern European language skills;
  • commercial experience (education or training from three months);
  • International experience from a period of 3 months.
