Course description

The Enterprise Doctorate (EntD) is run jointly by the school of the subject discipline and the Manchester Science Enterprise Centre. The EntD is a doctorate in business creation and knowledge transfer modelled on the Engineering Doctorate. The core of the EntD is a research project which embraces research work and commercialisation extending from the concept to commercial exploitation.

Career opportunities

The course develops research skills, advanced understanding of a specialist area and enterprise, the ability to evaluate innovation and the confidence to take forward an entrepreneurial business idea. The course is designed to prepare graduates for careers as knowledge based entrepreneurs able to take control of their own career path in today's knowledge based economy.

Full entry requirements

• Academic entry qualification overview: A minimum upper second class honours degree, or the overseas equivalent, in a related discipline.
• English language: Students whose first language is not English are required to have a minimum of 6.5 IELTS or 600 TOEFL.
