The course is a standard one year, full time structure consisting of and research elements of study. Taught units equivalent to 30-60 credits and dissertation project equivalent to 120-150 credits are undertaken. The research project will be supervised by a member of academic staff and the project can be undertaken in any of the main research areas, Biological, Inorganic, Materials, Organic, Physical and Theoretical.
The taught modules are chosen under guidance of the research supervisor from a selection offered by the School of Chemistry and other University departments. The selected modules are assessed before completion of the research project and the dissertation is submitted in September. This programme is therefore designed to allow students to combine masters level taught modules with research skills and training development.
