Course Description

Computer engineers are intimately involved in the design of miniature electronic surgical implants that help people with biological deficiencies to function normally, as well as enormously complex systems that efficiently manage industrial, financial, and government operations.

Students joining TU Delft’s MSc Programme in Computer Engineering will learn the theory and practice of system software, including programming, operating systems, compilers,  computer networks and computer architecture, and the implementation and development of computer hardware. In addition, they will study the design of software tools and methodologies for synthesis, physical design, VLSI, hardware software co-design, systems on chip, VLSI test technology and reliability, and performance analysis.

Career opportunities

Computer Engineering is widely considered to be one of the most dynamic fields in terms of market growth, and accordingly, job prospects for Computer Engineering graduates are excellent. TU Delft graduates are working in such fields as embedded systems, telecommunications, desktop computers, high-performance computers, networks, medical systems, and consumer electronics. Prominent companies such as Philips, NXP, IBM, Infineon, SUN, Intel, IMEC, NVIDIA, ASML, Nokia, Lucent, OCE, and TNO-FEL all currently employ Delft graduates.
