The two-year Master of Science programme in Geomatics educates students to become multidisciplinary experts, who will contribute to the entire geo-information chain. They will be capable of collecting, processing and applying geo-information for a large number of industrial, governmental and research purposes. The Geomatics programme is very internationally oriented, with participants from countries all over the world.
Career prospects
There is currently a great need for well-trained, innovative engineers and scientists in large infrastructural projects. Graduates are eagerly sought after for positions such as business consultants, data analysts, geo-information specialists, project managers and engineers.
Geomatics graduates find positions in local and national government agencies, as well as in the private sector with industrial and consultancy firms, or at universities and research institutes. They have been hired by companies such as Fugro, Shell, Boskalis, TNO, Kadaster, Grontmij and the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management.
Admission requirements
Graduates with a Bachelor’s degree from a Dutch University of Applied Sciences (HBO): For applicants with a relevant degree a deficiency programme is designed.
University graduates: Applicants with a BSc degree in one of the following disciplines qualify for admission to the programme: Civil Engineering, Applied Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Geodesy, Aerospace Engineering, Geophysics, Physical Geography, Geology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Earth Sciences and Hydrography. Graduates with a degree in a related discipline are also eligible for admission, but may have to meet additional requirements.
