About the programme

The 'Computer Science in Media' program combines Computer Science, Design and Business Studies on a higher level and in balanced proportions, thus making it a comprehensive and an innovative program. In addition to providing the fundamentals of the field, the program comprises audiovisual and multimedia productions, the developing of computer games, and information about how to manage projects and media-based enterprises.

Today, Furtwangen University’s Computer Science in Media course is the model for numerous courses of this kind all over Germany: many other Universities of Applied Science have adopted the successful blueprint of the original.

Ever since those early days, the course has constantly grown and developed. Initially there were forty students and six professors. Today there are more than four hundred students and thirty teaching staff.
