Computational Science is an interdisciplinary programme comprising three equally weighted pillars: Applied Mathematics and Mathematical Analysis, Numerical Methods and Computer Science, and a field of specialisation from among any of the quantitative majors in the School of Engineering and Science.
The B.Sc. programme in Computational Science prepares students to be experts in:
- the development of methods and tools for the simulation and analysis of complex systems using high performance digital computers;
- the application of standard computational methods to help solve problems in a variety of fields of application
Graduates of Computational Science will be familiar with topics in Mathematical Modelling, Model and Parameter Estimation, Model Reduction, Large-scale and Parallel Algorithms, Visualisation, and Hardware Architecture as well as in a field of application.
