Course Description

Media and knowledge engineering (MKE) is all about the design of the tools and applications at the core of data access and processing. Media and knowledge engineers are indispensable for the design of applications, for example, for medical visualisation to improve the production and fit of prostheses, the development of algorithms that improve hearing aids so that users are better able comprehend speech and engage the world, and for the design of intelligent systems that support negotiations processes.

Career opportunity

Graduates of the Media & Knowledge Engineering Programme will find a world of opportunities awaiting them. They can choose to pursue careers in the private sector, in government or in the academic world. Graduates will be able to move into positions as information analysts and ICT consultants in government ministries and consultancy firms such as Atos Origin and LogicaCMG, as information systems developers with financial institutions, and as user interface designers with firms such as Ericson and Siemens.
