This programme covers the history of the politics and cultures of the United States and the business understandings required in the modern world.
The programme provides you with a firm grounding in different approaches to the analysis of America and Business, and a broad knowledge of both business understandings of the economic, commercial and financial environment required in the modern world and American history, politics and culture, and the ability to evaluate these.
First year
You take foundation courses in business including marketing and economics together with modules in American History and Literature.
Second year
You study American History, international marketing and human resource management. In addition you can choose specialist options from a list which includes:
Third year
You spend your third on an internship with a company in the United States of America, where you will develop your skills and gain work experience and an understanding of American business practices and the discourses and ideologies that invest these. The internship is compulsory and counts towards the degree.
Final year
You will prepare a dissertation and take courses drawn from a wide range of options from both American Studies and Business Studies.
