The main objective of their Master's programme is the comparison between eastern and western European countries, the study of the relationships between those countries and the discussion of current European issues.
As the topic of Europe and its integration is highly complex, questions concerning its past, present and future can only be satisfactorily answered by joining the perspectives of different academic disciplines. The integration of the relevant subjects is provided by their programme "Ost-West-Studien" .

The aim of their programme is to impart knowledge about European developments and issues and train experts in the rapprochement between the Eastern and Western European countries. Their graduates are highly qualified to work in positions at regional, national or European level, e. g. in cultural or political institutions, international organisations with a European focus, in companies operating all over Europe, but also in scientific institutions or in the media sector.
