This one-year track of the Master's programme in European studies offers insight into various aspects of the European identity and the process of European integration. Students investigate the nature of Europe and the development of the idea of Europe that ultimately led to the founding of the European Union.
This programme aims to provide students with an in-depth knowledge of modern European history, culture and integration. Some courses focus on the European Union and the history and theories of Western and Eastern European cooperation since the Second World War. Others examine the characteristic multinational aspects of Europe, studying the ‘image' and culture of Europe throughout history. Upon completion of the programme, students will have an insight into various aspects of European identity and integration, and will have the necessary skills for conducting independent research on a relevant topic.
The Identity and Integration track of the Master‘s programme in European Studies provides a valuable foundation for students intending to teach or conduct independent research, or who are considering a career in advisory organisations, government and European Union institutions, international organisations or one of the writing professions.
