German-Italian Studies: University of Bonn

About the programme

The Bachelor of Arts "Deutsch-Italienische Studien"/Studi Italo-Tedeschi is an international course of study with joint degrees. It arose from the co-operation between the Universities Florence and Bonn. The course of study is focused on philological and cultural knowledge about Italy and Germany and leads to a specific ability in the transportation of German and Italian culture. The students follow a curriculum in the Department of Romance Studies as well as in the Department of German Studies. This curriculum includes lectures and courses in literature, (inter)cultural studies and linguistics as well as language courses. It also includes a practical training period.

The completion of the course of study leads to the following qualifications:

• Advanced skills in linguistics
• literary and cultural studies
• Communicative skills in Italian and German
• Intercultural skills

Career opportunity

Students will be prepared for a career either in academia or in national or international institutions. They will have learned, both theoretically and practically, to meet the various demands of a range of jobs:
