Educational requirements:

Language requirements:

• TOEFL (minimum score: 570/230); IELTS (minimum score: 6.5), A sufficient working knowledge of the language or languages that are of essential importance within the track concerned.

Objectives:

• To gain thorough knowledge of the chosen specialisation, as well as the development and societal relevance of their field of study in general. To be equipped to work independently, to collect discipline-relevant academic literature and sources and to assess their quality, to formulate clear and substantiated arguments, and to expound research results clearly both orally and in writing.

Subjects:

• The programme consists of 7 specialisations: Arabic; Persian and Berber; Christianity of the Middle East; Egyptology; Hebrew and Aramaic; Islamic studies; Mesopotamia and Anatolia; Turkish.

Modes of instruction:

• Lectures, seminars, research projects, master's thesis, field work.
