The GCSC offers a clearly structured postgraduate curriculum tailored to support dissertation projects in the humanities and social sciences. Courses offered provide assistance in all matters relating to the organisation, structure and content of the thesis and its defence. Moreover, students participate in interdisciplinary postgraduate colloquia which allow them to present and discuss their Ph.D. projects each semester. Workshops and master classes held by international experts focus on theories, concepts and methodologies relevant to the individual projects.
The only thematic restrictions imposed on individual projects within the GCSC are that they must fit the GCSC research profile.

The GCSC provides its doctoral candidates with excellent opportunities to gather conference, publishing and teaching experience. Moreover, the GCSC Career Services offer guidance and advice on the academic job market as well as on entering non-academic employment.
