The interdisciplinary Master of Arts programme has been specially designed to provide masters-level students with intercultural competency and analytical skills in the area of Interamerican Studies. The vast American hemisphere, extending from Canada, North America, and the Caribbean to Central and South America, is characterised by a plurality of geographical and demographic regions. These reflect a broad spectrum of language backgrounds, cultural influences and social conditions. The programme at the University of Düsseldorf entails a comprehensive and innovative approach to the languages, literatures, and arts of the American regions.
Students will gain a thorough understanding of the connections between North, Central, and South America and develop skills in analysing a variety of historical, literary, and cultural contexts. Graduates of the programme qualify for professional opportunities in cultural management, journalism, advertising and public relations, as well as in academia, the media and various aspects of international trade.
