Educational requirements:

• Relevant Bsc in social sciences and basic knowledge of multivariate analysis.

Language requirements:

• TOEFL (minimum score: 580 (paper test) 237 (computer test) 93 (internet)); IELTS (minimum score: 6.5 (6.0. for the writing module).), Cambridge EFL Advanced English: B; Cambridge EFL Proficiency in English: C.

Objectives:

• A systematic theoretical and empirical analysis of educational phenomena and problems, and emphasis of 3 goals: a strong foundation in research, and theories of learning, instruction and teaching; competence in conducting high-quality educational research; skills to apply basic knowledge and research methods from various domains to the study of learning in interaction in education.

Subjects:

• Students take courses on different learning and instruction theories, and are trained in advanced statistics. A 'master class' focuses on developing academic skills, while participating in a research project of a senior faculty member introduces each student to 'hands-on' research work. Additional to the master's thesis, students also have the opportunity to write a proposal for a research grant.
