"Vocational Education and Adult Education in International Development Work" provides the opportunity for students to obtain pedagogic and didactic qualifications. The course is designed to confer the scientific-professional capacity to teach in, organise, administer and supervise different occupational fields in a specific country. It includes a basic introduction to the science of education. The programme also specialises in different aspects of pedagogy. Students learn how to apply their knowledge and experience in design, planning, implementation and evaluation of courses and projects depending on the specific needs of a particular country. The programme is divided into a compulsory section for basic training and a section of classes that can be chosen depending on the student's future profession. Each section includes a four-week internship. The subjects can be divided into the following four main groups: basics of vocational training, sociological foundations, teaching methods and media and special disciplines (e.g. methodology of project-oriented work and methodology of curriculum development). The course is completed with the Master's thesis.

Upon completion of the course, graduates will have obtained the qualifications for employment in the field of Vocational Education and Continuing Education in areas like administration, in offices of planning and consultation, in departments of personnel management, education, continuing education and retraining in enterprises, in national and international organisations, in vocational, technical and engineering schools.

They obtain qualifications for planning, design and implementation of teaching processes and projects, analysis of educational needs and management of education as well as the supervision and evaluation of courses and projects in vocational education and continuing education.
