Energy Science and Technology: University of Ulm

The Master of Science Programme in Energy Science and Technology has been designed to provide students, both national and international, with a comprehensive education in the scientific and technological aspects of modern techniques for energy conversion and energy storage. Special emphasis is given to interdisciplinary aspects, which have become increasingly important in modern technologies. Building on a broad base covering conventional energy technology as well as related fields in Chemistry, Materials Science and Electrical Engineering, the course focuses on "Non-Carnot" techniques for Energy Conversion, in particular on Electrochemical Energy Conversion and Energy Storage (Fuel Cells, Batteries).

The programme offers thorough scientific and technical training in an active research and development environment, composed of basic research at the university, applied research and development at the Center for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Storage (ZSW), and industrial development at the Daimler-Chrysler Research Center in Ulm, as well as intensive language training and inter-cultural exchange.
