The Master’s programme in Energy Science studies the sustainability of the production, treatment and use of energy and materials. The programme gives you detailed insight into the development of energy and material use over time, into current and future energy technologies (including renewable energy), such as solar cells, biomass and wind, and into bio-based materials and energy and climate policies. Graduates will be able to contribute to the transitions towards sustainable energy and material systems by doing applied research or consultancy work or by giving policy advice.
The sustainable development of energy systems will be one of the main global challenges of this new century. Research institutes, businesses, consultancy firms, government organisations and NGOs are active in the quest for energy efficiency improvement and more renewable energy sources. Many existing and new companies are taking up the challenge to develop new business in this area and there is already a great demand for energy and resources specialists, which will certainly increase.
