Educational requirements: BSc degree from a recognized university in a discipline relevant to the programme.
Professional experience required: Several years of work experience in a relevant field recommended.
Language requirements: TOEFL (minimum score: 550); IELTS (minimum score: 6.0)
Other requirements: Reasonable working knowledge of mathematics and good computer skills.
Objectives: On completion, participants have an understanding of and can use remote sensing, GIS and decision support systems for mapping, monitoring & assessment, impact studies and environmental management.
Subjects: Natural resources management; geographic information systems; remote sensing; data analysis and spatial modelling in various fields of resources management; research techniques; thesis research.
Modes of instruction: Lectures and practicals, self-study, multidisciplinary project work and hands-on case studies, fieldwork, discussion groups and assignments, computer assisted analysis and multi-media exercises.
