The LLM in Law and Economics is a unique programme that attracts students from around the world. As a result, it has a distinctive international flavour that makes it ideal for learning about the views and perspectives of others. As a student on the course, you form part of a young and vibrant network of students, but you are also likely to remain in contact with your fellow students long after graduation.
The LLM programme in Law and Economics is designed to give you an in-depth knowledge of two very complex subjects, as well as the understanding and expertise you need to see how these two subjects inter-relate. Over the course of a year, you study six compulsory courses, receive training in how to debate and report on issues relating to the law and economy, and look at the legal and economic theories behind competition law, market supervision, market regulation and corporate governance.
From legal and supra-legal positions, to conducting research in an institute or a university, this degree will leave you well prepared for your choice of career.

The LLM programme in Law and Economics is open to:
Graduates in Law or law and economics or students who expect to graduate no later than a month before the start of the programme.
Students with a liberal arts Bachelor’s degree with a good basic knowledge of law. This requirement is fulfilled by students who have completed at least 6 law courses (minimum of 7.5 ECTS per course) at an undergraduate or graduate level, including basic courses on European Union law.
Proof of profiency in English
All other applicants, including applicants who hold a Dutch HBO diploma (diploma of higher professional education), must provide proof of proficiency in English. To do so, you are required to take one of the following English language tests:
