About the programme

The BGSE offers a full set of courses in microeconomics and macroeconomics, as well as in applied econometrics.

The successful completion of the programme will qualify students for positions in academic institutions, industry, political and public administration.

Admission requirments

Outstanding (top 10%) students with a university degree in economics or related fields, such as mathematics, statistics, business administration, accounting, and finance, are encouraged to apply for admission to the BGSE.

Successful applicants who already hold a Master degree (or equivalent) are admitted as doctoral students of the Economics Department of Bonn University; applicants who only hold a Bachelor join the BGSE as students of the Master in Economics offered by the Department and transfer to doctoral status upon successful completion of the course work required for the Master degree.
