The Industrial and Labour Economics (ILE) Group is a highly active research group with a strong focus on applied research around various overlapping themes in the economics of business.
Research strengths

- The Evolution of the Organisation of Production in a Marshallian Industrial District: The Birmingham Jewellery Quarter – a project funded by the British Academy
- The Governance of Networks as a Determinant of Local Economic Development – a project funded by the European Science Foundation
