About the programe

The english-language doctoral programme in "Quantitative Economics and Finance" is a three year, structured doctoral programme, allowing the option of a preparatory year.

The doctoral programme has two primary goals. First, it aims to provide doctoral students in economics and finance with a firm grounding in the newest theoretical concepts and quantitative methods in order to gain the skills needed to write a dissertation of the highest, internationally recognized, standard. Secondly, students will become especially proficient in the three main research areas involved with the programme: Finance, Labour Economics and Public Economics.

The Konstanz doctoral programme provides the benefit of an American-style programme with a well-structured curriculum. This allows students the opportunity to progress towards their thesis topic, as well as their own active research interests as quickly as possible. Finally, the program takes care to provide active involvement from supervising professors, exclusive doctoral seminars and the compulsory completion of research papers during the programme.
