The course is aimed at well qualified graduates either new to or in their early years in the teaching profession. For teachers in possession of QTS/PGCE it offers (subject to standard procedures for the accreditation of prior learning) the opportunity to engage on a part-time basis in continuing professional development. This is in relation to their role as classroom teachers and/or in preparation for roles of additional responsibility and leadership.
For teachers who do not have QTS/PGCE or who have trained as teachers outside of the UK there is the opportunity to study full time for the MA Education (International Route).
This course is aimed at primary and secondary teachers.
Special features
The course is strongly focused upon the application of educational theories, ideas and concepts to young people in classroom, school and community based contexts. It offers a unique combination of pedagogical, policy and practice based perspectives on education located within the educational and professional experiences of the participants.
