About the programme

This programme aims to provide suitably qualified graduates who have little or no experience of English language teaching with an opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the field of TESOL at both the theoretical and practical levels. The programme combines existing modules from the MA in English Language Teaching (ELT), thereby allowing you to work alongside more experienced teachers, with specific modules aimed at those wishing to enter the TESOL profession and which address classroom interaction, lesson planning, lesson delivery and language teaching methodology.

Admission requirments

• A first degree or equivalent in the Social Sciences or Humanities (e.g. Languages, English, Education, Psychology, etc.)
• In the case of applicants whose first language is not English, then IELTS 6.5 (with no component lower than 6) (or equivalent) is required.
• Students that apply to enter stages of the programme may be admitted through normal Accreditation of Experiential Learning (AEL) or Accreditation of Certificated Learning (ACL) processes, or through an approved articulation agreement.
