Course Description

This programme provides training for those seeking to teach children aged 5–11 years, across the whole primary curriculum. An additional primary course offers a specialism in modern foreign languages (French). You will acquire the skills to organise and manage a classroom, and learn how to plan, teach and assess national curriculum subjects.

Entry Requirements

  • A degree awarded by a British University or by the Council for National Academic Awards, or an equivalent qualification, plus O level or GCSE passes (grades A–C), or the equivalent, in English language, mathematics and science (preferably double science) – most students hold at least an upper second-class honours degree
  • They consider strong applicants if you have a degree with significant French content
  • If you are a mature student with relevant classroom experience, but a lower degree class, your application will be considered
  • You will be expected to have some experience of working with children, in either a paid or a voluntary role
