Economic, technological and social conditions are developing rapidly. The maintenance and continuous renewal of buildings, engineering structures, lifelines and infrastructure systems are tremendous tasks and a challenge for civil engineers world-wide.
Such tasks call for extended skills: in the assessment of the actual situation, in knowledge of building materials concerning both old technologies and new materials, in construction methods, in economics and finances.
The M.Sc. course of study has two tracks the student can choose between: track 1: rehabilitation of buildings and structures; track 2: rehabilitation of infrastructures. Common modules for both tracks are analytical tools, building materials and language and building history.
Rehabilitation of buildings and structures comprises modules in analysis of carrying capacity, enforcement of structures, rehabilitation of buildings and sustainability, safety and risk.
Rehabilitation of infrastructures comprises modules in rehabilitation of roads, rehabilitation of utility systems and network information systems. In addition, several special lectures have to be attended.
