The University of Manchester and the University of Salford are hosting this Conference and The theme of this year's conference is 'Language Variation and Change', which embodies numerous research areas and emphasises the value of both synchronic and diachronic studies.

The aim of the Conference is to bring together international postgraduates from within the various areas of Linguistics and to allow them to present papers to their peers. It is hoped that the day will be rewarding for all in attendance, both in learning and establishing new contacts.
