The 3rd annual University Research Competition will take place on the afternoon of Tuesday 19 January 2010 in the Oliver Thompson Lecture Theatre at the Northampton Square site, ending with a buffet reception in the evening following the announcement of the award which will take place at around 6.45 pm.
This year, in addition to the main prize, there will be a smaller prize of £10,000 for the best interdisciplinary proposal. Their distinguished external panel will judge a range of proposals from across the University. You can also vote to help the judges decide.
The event aims to celebrate the variety of research being undertaken at City as well as to provide funding for the winning projects. They hope that staff from across the University will come along to support the event on the day.
Also Last year’s winners, Dermot Bowler and Sebastian Gaigg, from the Autism Research Group in the Department of Psychology, School of Social Sciences, talk about their project. And The 2009 Research Competition Prize(s) and the 2008 staff research prizes will be presented at the end of the event by the Acting Vice-Chancellor.
