Three-day course
The above three-day course is being run by the Postgraduate and Continuing Education Unit, School of Healthcare Studies, Cardiff University and is suitable for mental health professionals from any discipline who want a basic introduction to CBT skills and is also suitable for medical and healthcare professionals who use or need to use counselling skills as part of their role.
This course aims to introduce participants to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). There will be an opportunity to gain an understanding of the theory of CBT, but the main aim is to teach the application of theory in context. Participants will be encouraged to practice skills and strategies within the workshop.
It is assumed you will have had an understanding and some experience of the application of counselling skills and that you will have undertaken some previous counselling skills training
The course leader is Janet Grey, Janet is a British Association of Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapies (BABCP) Accredited Psychotherapist and Counsellor (MBACP).
