The Diploma in Applied Project Management is a unique university-industry partnership, combining UCC’s cutting edge excellence in strategy and organization theory with the world-class project management executive education capabilities of the Institute of Project Management. Since it start in 1993, some 3,000 working professionals have taken the program. Faculty members, internationally recognized instructors, and industry experts combine to provide the platinum standard in Irish project management education and certification.

Prerequisites

People attending the programme are required to have a third level qualification (ordinary degree / diploma minimum, Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications) and a minimum of three years post graduate work experience. In certain circumstances, individuals not meeting these requirements but who have extensive project management experience may be considered subject to receipt of CV and interview attendance.

Career Path

The Diploma in applied project management provides two outputs – the Diploma and globally recognised IPMA (International Project Management Association) certification. The Institute of Project Management is the Irish Certification Body for the administration of the IPMA four level certification system which operates in 45 countries and has in excess of 100,000 certified professionals. This multi-level certification system provides a professional career path for individuals as they can progress from Project Management Associate to Project Manager to Senior Project Manager and finally to Project Director. There are 1,600 IPMA Certified Professionals currently registered in Ireland.
