The aim of the online conference is to bring together international postgraduates from within the various areas of Translation and Interpreting Studies and to give them the opportunity to present papers to their peers.

The broad theme of this year's conference is Research in Translation and Interpreting Studies: Methods of the Past, the Present and the Future, a topic which should accommodate a wide range of issues relevant to researchers working within the context of translating, interpreting, contrastive linguistics and related disciplines.

Contributions can address any aspect and perspective taken to practical research, including, but not limited to:

  • "Microscopic", "macroscopic" or complex perspectives on T&I issues at theinterface of cultural, social or linguistic phenomena
  • Methods, methodologies, theories and paradigms in empirical/ quantitative or conceptual/ qualitative research; reductionist or holistic, diachronic or synchronic, modernist or postmodernist approaches
  • Issues relevant to the generation and selection of data as well as the instruments used by T&I researchers, corpora, TAPs, ethnographic methods, etc
  • Aspects of inter- and transdisciplinarity and methodological pluralism/relativism
