Course details

This course provides students with a solid grounding in the principles of finance and investment that can be applied to a broad range of financial issues in the UK and international economy. Graduates are likely to be interested in working within the financial institutions or in the financial sections of large enterprises. The course is also highly relevant to those wishing to become management consultants, financial market regulators or active in governmental services.

Global financial markets are rapidly expanding and, with them, employment prospects for university-educated professionals - not only in Europe and North America, but also in Asia, Latin America and Africa. Entry requirements

  • A-levels: BBC (typically translates to 280 points in the UCAS tariff with additional qualifications). Applicants with only 2 full A-levels or a double award will be considered on an individual basis. Excludes General Studies.
  • ND/C (Level 3): DMM.
  • International Baccalaureate: 30 points, including 16 at higher level.
  • QAA-approved access course: acceptable, subject-specific units.
  • GCSE (minimum grade C): at least 3 subjects including English language and mathematics.
  • Foundation degree/HND/HNC: direct to year 2 may be possible with relevant subjects.
  • For non-native speakers of English: IELTS 6.0 overall, 6.0 in writing, or equivalent.
