Course details
The Forestry foundation degree course meets the training needs of the forestry industry in aspects of woodland management and multiple-use forestry. Particular emphasis is placed on the environmental and ecological factors which influence forestry in the south of England.
Career and progression opportunities
Graduates are prepared for a career in forestry or related land-based industries such as forestry consultancy, woodland and estate management, woodland officers, private consultancy, conservation work or forestry and woodland research. Graduates can also go on to study the university's Ecology and Biogeography degree.
Entry requirements
- UCAS tariff: 120 points, from a minimum of one 6-unit qualification. Level 3 Key Skills will count towards the tariff score. Excluding General Studies.
- International Baccalaureate: 24 points, certificates considered.
- QAA-approved access course: acceptable.
- GCSE (minimum grade C): at least 3 subjects including English language and mathematics or a science.
- Foundation degree/HND/HNC individual assessment. Depending on academic achievements applicants may be credited with full module credits for up to 50 percent of modules. All applicants will be interviewed.
- For non-native speakers of English: IELTS 5.5 overall, 6.0 in writing.
