Educational requirements: BSc degree from a recognized university in one of the earth sciences or other relevant discipline / attitude for independent studying.

Professional experience required: Several years of work experience is recommended.

Language requirements: TOEFL (minimum score: 550); IELTS (minimum score: 6.0), Michigan = 75.

Other requirements: Preferably a good working experience in computer handling of data, and good stereoscopic and colour vision.

Objectives: Students will gain competency in a tailored and challenging learning environment, how to acquire, manage and analyze geo-spatial data, and do research with options in geo-hazards, geo-engineering, earth resources exploration, and earth science data provision.

Subjects: The 4 options are: geo-hazards, geo-engineering, earth resources exploration, and earth science data provision. All subjects are related to the use of geo-information and earth observation in society.

Modes of instruction: Lectures and computer exercises, tutor sessions, case studies, multi-disciplinary projects, individual study topics, choice lecture options, excursion and/or field work, research skills, MSc thesis research.
